Weather update 1/9/12: We've all been monitoring the weather, and as you can see above, we've picked a trip weekend later in the season. We've done this, because we've done our research. Although Mammoth has had a few dry starts to its seasons over the 50+ years, those slow starts usually get blown away by big snowfall later in the season. And if it helps, although the west has seen a slow start this year, Mammoth is thriving! Mammoth has the most acres open in CA by far, as it has top to bottom skiing/boarding and all lodges are open! So, don't fret! This trip is going to be awesome! Sign ups are first come, first serve. So, don't let any doubts stop you from signing up!
Weather update 1/16/12: We hate to say we told you so... "Areas above 8,000 feet and along the crest are expected to see 8+ feet of snow Thursday through Sunday, with more coming next week." http://snowforecast.com/MammothMountain

- The trip is in Mammoth, one of the best snowboard/ski resorts in the country!
- We have condos reserved, which are walking distance to the village. Condos hold 8-10 people. We'll ask for your preferences, so you get to stay with your friends, if requested.
- First night includes a party (8-10PM) with pizza & beer.
- Second night, we'll have a pub crawl in the village.
- We're including a special long sleeve trip shirt in the price.
- Lift Tickets
- In order to be flexible for everyone from beginners to the advanced and experienced with season passes, we do not include a lift ticket in the price of our trip.
- Discounted Group Lift Tickets: We can get discounted 2-day (Sat & Sun only) lift tickets if we have at least 25 people interested. We will contact you if we have enough interest. No 1-day discounted lift tickets are available for groups. Please mark your preferences on the Trip Info Form when you sign up.
- Mammoth Lift Ticket Rates: Here's a link to Mammoth's website.
- Getting to/from Mammoth
- We'll be arranging carpools to get you up to Mammoth & back. We'll ask for your preferences, so you get to travel with your friends, if requested. We do carpools instead of a bus to reduce the trip cost.
- Flights to Mammoth are also available on Alaska/Horizon Airlines and United Airlines. You can fly from LAX, Orange County, San Diego, San Jose, and San Franciso. Round Trip flights are typically between $150 and $200. For flight information, click here.
Couch/Floor Policy:
A Couch/Floor spot is defined as a non-pull out couch or actual floor spot. Availability is limited, and is only available if the trip is full. Couch/Floor spots qualify for a reduced price of $85. Everyone pays in full now. Difference will be refunded after the trip. Plan to bring a sleeping bag and pillow. We offer these spots to give a discount opportunity to members, as well as reduce the overall trip cost. Please mark your preferences on the Trip Info Form when you sign up.
Refund Policy:
If you are unable to attend, we can offer a full refund (minus $0.30, due to new PayPal policies) up to Friday, January 20, 2012 @ 12:00AM. After that deadline, refunds will only be available if someone can be found to take your spot and pay before Friday, February 17, 2012 @ 12:00PM. This can either be a friend or someone from our waiting list. After this, no other changes will be accepted, as we assign organizing condos and carpools. Send all requests to Events@SoapLA.com.
We'll be capping the trip at about 85 people. It's guaranteed to fill up fast! So, mark your calendars, and talk to your friends!
